‘Back Home’ is a surreal meditation on place, memory, and spirit. The composition anchors itself in the Philadelphia skyline, positioned in the lower left as a point of origin. Rising above it is a vertical column of six eyes—a watchful presence extending upward, suggesting awareness that transcends geography.
Two skull-like forms emerge within the scene, each inhabited by a ghostly presence, while a pair of lips and a jetliner in the upper right gesture toward distance, longing, and the pull of return. In a final, haunting detail, a blue figure peers through a skull-shaped eye socket, suspended between inner vision and the external world.
Blending city, spirit, and surreal imagination, ‘Back Home’ reflects on departure and return—not just as movement through space, but as an ongoing internal journey.
