‘Brotherly’ is the third work in my Escapades series, a body of paintings that expands the visual language of my skull motifs into larger, more surreal compositions. The piece unfolds as a layered dreamscape, where symbols of spirit, city, and pop culture coexist within a single, fluid narrative.
The Philadelphia skyline anchors the scene, rising among skeletal forms, spirits, lips, and eyes. Unexpected elements punctuate the composition—the top of Bart Simpson’s head, the electric chip of the Bugasphere, and the presence of multiple Sparkies—each contributing to the work’s playful yet contemplative energy.
Surreal and expansive, ‘Brotherly’ reflects the exploratory nature of the Escapades series, where familiar symbols are reassembled into new journeys of vision, meaning, and movement.
