‘HUNTER WIZARD’ was created as a personal piece and remains one of my favorites. It features my dog, Hunter—my constant companion and a presence that feels more like a guide than a pet. The portrait treats him not just as an animal, but as a spirit figure, grounded and quietly watchful.
Inspired by early mystic-themed pet portraits, the work leans into the idea of animals as guardians and mirrors. Hunter appears here as both familiar and symbolic, occupying a space between the everyday and the mythic.
Part of my Without Words body of work, ‘HUNTER WIZARD’ honors the bond between human and animal as something intuitive, enduring, and deeply felt.
