‘Ride or Die’ features a childlike cowboy skeleton and grew out of concern about the weight placed on children during moments of collective pressure and uncertainty.
The phrase “ride or die” is usually associated with toughness or loyalty. Here, it points to the expectations placed on kids by society and systems far beyond their control—asking them to carry adult consequences before they’re ready.
