‘SADDLE UP’ was made at a point when I realized I had spent too much time waiting — waiting for clarity, for certainty, for things to feel safer before moving forward.
The image shows a skeleton knocked to the ground, hat off, set against a background that loosely echoes a caution sign. It acknowledges setback and instability, but the title pushes back against hesitation. The message isn’t subtle, and it wasn’t meant to be.
This painting marked a shift for me. Instead of pausing in the face of uncertainty, I decided to move anyway — accepting risk as part of the ride rather than a reason to stop.
This original painting is now in a private collection.
