'ME AND ANTHONY' Limited Edition Fine Art Giclee Print

This limited edition fine art giclee print is part of my Early Works Collection.  This painting is the most recently completed in the collection and was the last painting I completed before reviving my art practice in 2017.  It is a bit of a self portrait.  I'm seated prominently in the center and my friend at the time, Anthony is just over my left shoulder.

There was a lot of things I was proud of in this painting.  I did a pretty good job of developing skin tones and shaking myself.  I also think I did a pretty good job with the lamp and the bottle.

Twenty something me showed this around a bit, but instead of getting the feedback I was hoping for, I got what I interpreted at the time as a tepid encouragement.  I remember one gallery owner telling me it "showed some promise".  Honestly this was pretty bruising to my ego, because of how much I liked this painting.  The other thing is that I was a young man who was getting ready to start a family, and there was very little time for anything other than providing and building a home.  There certainly didn't seem to be any time for something I wasn't sure I was even good at.  so... I stuffed my art dream down deep and went to work.

Life is all about timing.  Nothing comes to you before you're ready for it.  I know that now.

This print is made with archival quality pigments printed on Moab Entrada 190 Bright paper.  This print comes in either 8.5x11" or 4x6" sizes.  Each variant is a limited run edition of 40 prints, with each print being numbered and signed by the artist.  The 8.5x11" are the first edition, and the 4x6" are the 2nd edition.  Both sized prints are shipped in a protective cellophane sleeve.
