'TRACY CHAPMAN' Limited Edition Fine Art Giclee Print
This limited edition fine art giclee print is part of my Early Works Collection. This painting was done in the late 90's. Back then, as now, music was a huge part of my life. I was obsessed with Tracy Chapman's 1988 self titled debut and it's album cover was the inspiration for this painting. I don't always agree with the decisions I made in my 20's, but this particular one continues to be stellar in my opinion!
I had so much fun using the thick heavy body paints to create her hair, and imagined her outdoors scorching the earth, under the bridge, over the tracks, before fleeing with her lover in a "Fast Car" to someplace better to make a new life. It felt like we were both trapped in the midwest in those days.
If you're looking at this beauty and thinking, "Baby Can I Hold You"? Well, yes you can, you beautiful spirit! All you have to do is click the button... "If Not Now..." (then when)?
